TAPS: Tuition Assistance Program for Scrip
Do you:

If so, you can use Scrip and save money for
tuition and support MCS at the same time!
What is Scrip?
Scrip is a gift certificate or card that can be
used for your regular shopping at participating stores. As a
result, a school family and/or the school benefits by 2% to
25% of the value of the Scrip purchase. Monroe Christian
School will receive the percentage indicated on the order
form. Twenty percent of this amount will be distributed to
the general fund of MCS. The remaining 80% will be
distributed to your choice of the following: Your MCS
tuition account Another family's MCS tuition account The MCS
general fund Example: If your family used Scrip for grocery
shopping at the rate of $600 per month, you could contribute
as much as $288 per year toward tuition and up to $72 per
year toward the general fund (or you could have all $360 go
to the general fund).
How to Order:
1. Select merchants and indicate quantity
2. Complete family information
3. Make check payable to MCS
4. Return your order to the office on or before the Friday due date by 9:00 a.m.
5. Filled orders will be delivered on Monday afternoons

indicated on the order form. Twenty percent of this amount
will be distributed to the general fund of MCS. The
remaining eighty percent will be distributed to your tuition
account should you chose that.
When are the orders due?
Scrip orders are due on the Monday due dates by 9 a.m. The
volunteers that are processing the orders need to have them
by this time in order to get them entered into the system
and faxed to Bellevue Christian School in a timely manner.
When do the orders come in?
Your orders are ready for pickup
on Monday unless specified otherwise. We receive the gift
certificates on Friday and process them over the weekend. As
time goes on, we hope to get them to you on Friday.
How do I order?
Order and registration forms are available in the
office. If it’s your first time ordering, please fill out a
registration form to designate where you want the proceeds
to go and the method of pickup. After that, it’s easy. Just
pick, up an order form, indicate the quantity of the
certificates ordered and enclose that with your check in the
envelope provided.
What’s with the envelopes?
There are specific Scrip envelopes we use for the orders. This is for
your privacy and also makes it easier to keep the orders
together. If you don’t have an envelope, you will get one
with your first order. Please use those when placing your
order.
When will we see how much we’ve saved?
On each receipt, there is a statement of how much you have saved.
This is the current year only. Your account will be credited
with that amount every trimester (the same time the report
cards come out). So the first credit will be in December.
