Life is better when we live in fellowship with one another, just as we are called. We are a parent-led community, and we want our families to get plugged-in: join a service team, attend family events, stay in touch with class groups, and get connected to the online community.

April Havener is well-known to families and staff at MCS. Her family attends Cascade Church and has been an active part of Monroe Christian School for the past five years. She was highly involved in TAPP (PTA) and Cascade MOPS and is currently serving as the Treasurer of the local troop of American Heritage Girls. She has a gift for connecting people and finding places where they will thrive.

The Safety Team is made up of parents whose goal is to improve the security of our school for the safety of our students and staff.
Many volunteers have special skills or useful resources that carry over from their jobs, such as police, military, or similar. However, the only prerequisite is the desire to keep students safe and secure!
This group shares new ideas, explores best practices, and facilitates teacher training whenever possible.
DAVIN ALSIN
Davin is father to Taylor and Tessa, and serves on the Board. He is a firefighter and former police officer, dedicated to
helping others in every aspect of life. He is passionate about making our building secure, utilizing both traditional safety methods and teacher training.

DENA BOBINGER
Recess volunteers play a critical ​role in the day to day functioning of school. When a parent steps in to take over a recess, it frees up some valuable planning or break time for a teacher that needs it. Volunteer recess teachers are welcome all year long, at any one or more of our recess breaks.
​
All volunteers must pass a background check prior to helping, and each person is responsible for reading and understand the rules. We try our best to accommodate parents who wish to serve with their students' class as much as possible. However, please know volunteers are asked to be present and watch all the children, not simply play with their own.
​
Dena is our front desk manager, and is the engine behind all that happens from the office. She wears many hats; the keeper
of icepacks, the school nurse, guardian of the doorbell, and general smiling face to all parents and guests.

Becky Werkhoven
This group of computer savvy volunteers help with any tech issues that arise. They work to keep our laptop carts running smoothly and up to date, as well as our cyber-security strong.
​
This team is also on-call for events that might require A/V or use special equipment, such as the auction, Chapel, or a graduation ceremony. There are various needs with hardware, software, security, intercoms, building communication, and all-things tech. If you are proficient and technology
is your world, we'd love your help!
BECKY WERKHOVEN
Becky is not only our Director
of Finance, she also oversees classroom equipment and technology. She keeps our systems up-to-date and the hardware organized. She is keeper of the passwords, and works to keep students safe online while using tech at school..
